Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar or The Phantom of the Opera, the musical masterpieces of the composer, Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber, a living legend. Of course, some of his work belongs to classical music, like the Requiem, which he dedicated to the memory of his father. This evocative work breathes sadness, but also hope – that’s when a boy’s solo, in this case from the Pueri Gaudentes choir, sings the angelic Pie Jesu. George Gershwin also carried a beautiful sadness. The Czech pianist Petr Malásek, who grew up on his music, knows this.
