We asked Ms Helena Valtrová, General & Sales Manager of our new member the Emblem Places Group, to introduce the company:
What is the Emblem Places group, which recently became a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce?
The newly established Emblem Places group consists of luxury and premium hotels, restaurants and cafes. They can be found in Prague, Mariánské Lázně, Munich and Košice. The purpose of this new concept is to combine know-how in the field of high-quality accommodation services and renowned gastronomy and to provide our guests with professional facilities so that they always feel comfortable and receive the highest level of service. Our flagship is certainly our 5* boutique lifestyle hotel near Old Town Square, The Emblem Prague hotel, which has won numerous awards, most recently the Luxury Lifestyle Awards.
In addition to The Emblem Hotel and George Prime Steak restaurant, you also operate the White Horse and Brick’s Hergetova Cihelna restaurants in Prague, and last but not least the newly opened Lví Dvůz restaurant at Prague Castle. How do these businesses differ?
All of our facilities are united by an emphasis on the high quality of the services we offer, especially in terms of service and raw materials. In this respect, all our hotels and restaurants are the same. Where they differ is in the type of cuisine. The White Horse restaurant on Old Town Square is focused on quality Czech cuisine, Brick’s restaurant in the premises of Herget’s Brick House overlooking the Charles Bridge is all about a culinary experience under the tutelage of one of the best Czech chefs Pavel Sapík, and in the Lví dvůr restaurant we have honest Czech cuisine and prepare the Prague Piglet, which has always been famous in this restaurant. The restaurant and the hotel lounge area have become renowned venues for amazing events, from birthdays to corporate parties, business meetings, family brunches and weddings.
The Emblem Hotel is known for its support of the arts and local artists. Can you tell us about some of your initiatives in this area, and how they affect the overall atmosphere of your venues?
Select works from The Emblem Collection are on display at The Emblem Hotel. This completely unique collection consists of 60 works by contemporary Czech and international artists of different generations. As the work of some of the artists mentioned above is represented in the collections of world-class galleries and museums such as the Tate, MoMA, Guggenheim, Centre Pompidou and Victoria and Albert Museum, we have managed to have a truly unique collaboration with unique artists. The Emblem Collection has been developed since 2015 in collaboration with the curatorial organisation Are and is based on an exchange system between the hotel and the artists. It creates a unique and welcoming environment that is appreciated by all visitors to the hotel, not only guests but also professionals in the art world.
What are your plans for the future of Emblem Places? Are you planning any new products, service extensions or other projects?
We have officially created and activated the Emblem Places group with a view to expanding into other restaurants and hotels, not only in the Czech Republic, so that we can bid for other businesses and take advantage of the synergies that the group offers. We are looking forward to working with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and meeting members at one of your events or possibly at one of our restaurants or hotels.
